#DaanUtsav (earlier  Joy of Giving Week) is India’s ‘festival of giving’. Launched in 2009, the festival is celebrated every year – commencing on Gandhi Jayanti  from October 2 to 8. From auto rickshaw drivers to CEOs, school children to celebrities, homemakers to opinion leaders and media personnel, millions of people from all walks of life come together during this week to help society.

DAAN UTSAV FILM MAKING CONTEST

Come up with a 60-second video on Daan Utsav. Innovation, intent, and presentation are going to be the key deciding factors here.
  • Maximum duration of the video has to be 60 seconds.
  • Video needs to be submitted latest by October 10th, 2017.
  • Voting Window: 15th Oct, 2017 - 15th Nov, 2017.
  • 50% weightage would be for the likes your video gets.
  • 50% weightage would be for the judging panel's votes.
  • Maximum of 1 video submission for each individual.
  • Every video needs to have Daan Utsav logo embedded in it
  • Students, Alumni or Faculty of any Indian college are allowed to participate in the same.
  • Prizes would be disbursed only post verification that the winner is actually associated with the mentioned college in the capacity of a student, alumni or faculty.

DAAN UTSAV RECIPE CONTEST

Malnutrition is one of India's biggest challenges today. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford many of the healthy nutritional food that restaurants serve today. Come up with nutritional, but cost effective, recipes to address this issue.
  • Recipe needs to be submitted latest by October 10th, 2017.
  • Voting Window: 15th Oct, 2017 - 15th Nov 2017.
  • 50% weightage would be for the likes your recipe gets.
  • 50% weightage would be for the judging panel's votes.
  • Maximum of 1 recipe submission for each individual.
  • Bonus point for those who upload a video of feeding the under-privileged using this recipe during Daan Utsav week. This video needs to be submitted by 10th October, 2017
  • Students, Alumni or Faculty of any Indian college are allowed to participate in the same.
  • Prizes would be disbursed only post verification that the winner is actually associated with the mentioned college in the capacity of a student, alumni or faculty.

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE
  • Two parts to this interesting challenge:
    1. All big initiatives start with a small step. Put up a one page plan on what is going to be your act of giving during the Daan Utsav week of Oct 2-8.
    2. Implement the plan during the Daan Utsav week of Oct 2-8. Showcase your activities during Daan Utsav week in a video format not exceeding 3 minutes.
    • Your idea needs to be submitted latest by 5th October, 2017.
    • Maximum duration of the video showcasing the implementation during Daan Utsav week has to be 3 minutes, and the video needs to be submitted by 10th Oct, 2017*.
    • Voting Window: 15th Oct, 2017 - 15 Nov, 2017*.
    • 50% weightage would be for the likes your endeavor gets.
    • 50% weightage would be for the judging panel votes for your endeavor.
    • Maximum of 1 submission for each team.
    • 5 students need to be a part of each team.
    • Only students of Indian colleges are allowed to participate in the same.
    • Prizes would be disbursed only post verification that all members of the winning team are actually current students of the mentioned college.

    Few simple acts of giving that you could implement:

    • Visit an orphanage and read books to students
    • Buy a meal for deserving staff at your institution
    • Clean the streets, bus stops, railway stations, beaches, parks, etc.
    • Feed the homeless
    • Cloth donation / Blood Donation drives
