The National Highways Authority of India has launched the Clean Toilet Picture Challenge under its Special Campaign 5.0 to promote hygiene along national highways.

How it works:

If you spot a dirty toilet at any NHAI-managed toll plaza, open the RajmargYatra app, take a clear geo-tagged and time-stamped photo, and upload it with your name, mobile number, and vehicle registration number. Once verified, ₹1,000 will be credited to your FASTag account linked to that vehicle.

Key points to know:

The challenge is open until 31 October 2025.
Only toilets maintained by NHAI are eligible, not those at petrol pumps or private areas.
Each vehicle can earn the reward only once during the campaign.

Only the first valid report per toilet per day will be accepted.

Photos must be original and taken directly from the app.

Reports are verified using AI and manual checks.

The initiative aims to keep highways clean while holding contractors accountable for maintenance. Contractors failing to maintain toilets could face penalties of up to ₹1 lakh per day. A smart way to combine citizen participation with cleaner, safer travel across India.
